Veterans
There are many active duty servicemembers & veterans that live in our district. Their issues are important to me & my work in Congress.
I strongly believe that our budget should reflect the value of our veterans’ service and sacrifice. Our veterans have endured great personal sacrifice to defend our nation and protect our freedom, and this Congress must uphold our pledge to leave no veteran behind when they come home. Under the Democratic leadership, Congress provided the largest increase in funding for veterans health care in the VA’s 77-year history in 2007, and I am proud to have voted for VA funding to provide quality medical care to more than 5.5 million veterans in 2012, including 536,000 veterans home from Iraq and Afghanistan.
