When Republicans in the House were determined to slash funding for unemployment benefits, I spoke to Los Angeles's hardworking unemployed people determined to find good jobs. Watch the video.
My top priority is to work towards rebuilding our nation’s economy and creating jobs for the American people. As the economy continues to grow, I will fight for our overburdened middle-class and for the small business owners of America. Small businesses are the backbone of the American economy, and I will fight to give tax credits to small businesses to hire new employees, restore the flow of credit to small businesses so they can grow and create jobs, and extend the research and development tax credit that encourages innovation and job creation.

LOS ANGELES, CA — On Friday, over 150 small business owners and constituents got the inside scoop on how to make government their next customer at an event hosted by Congressmember Karen Bass (D-Calif.). Titled “Cracking the Code: A Small Business Workshop on Government Contracting,” this forum and resource fair mobilized both federal and local support service providers to deliver resources to business leaders and others from the 37th Congressional District.
