One of the most important aspects of Congress is developing, making, and monitoring laws. New laws are created every week. As a Member of Congress, I am actively involved in sponsoring and drafting legislation about issues that are important to you. Please contact my offices to share your thoughts on current legislation that may affect you, your family and our community.

Legislation I Have Introduced

H.R. 596: to repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and health care-related provisions in the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010, and for other purposes: This bill would repeal Obamacare in its entirety and move forward with finding alternative solutions to our nation's healthcare system.

H.R. 981: The Red Snapper Regulatory Reform Act: This bill would repeal the inflexible quota system and empower the Gulf States to have more control over the Red Snapper fishery.

H.R. 1096: The Real Choice for Veterans Act: This bill would give veterans in Southwest Alabama and across the country greater access to private care instead of forcing veterans to travel miles out of the way.

H.R. 1950: The Sunset Inefficient and Unaccountable Government Act: This bill would require the over 275 government departments, agencies and boards be reviewed and renewed once every ten years.  The legislation would exempt departments and agencies essential to national security.

H.R. 2004: The Online Education Verification Act: This bill would amend the Higher Education Act to ensure students use a secure login and passcode for online classes and exams. This legislation will help ensure the legitimacy of online classes.

H.J.Res. 12: Balanced Budget Amendment: This bill would require Congress to pass a balanced budget each year, the same action already required of state legislatures and businesses.
