Congressman Collins Leads Effort for National Lighthouse Day

Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27) today released the following statement after releasing a bipartisan letter requesting President Barack Obama establish August 7th as National Lighthouse Day.
“Since America’s inception, lighthouses have served a vital role in our country’s expansion,” said Congressman Collins. “They have been instrumental in trade and commerce, and now serve as a reminder of the rich history and shipping industry of New York’s 27th District. My colleagues and I are optimistic President Obama will honor our request and establish August 7th as National Light House Day.”
