Congressman Chris Collins Encourages Small Business to Weigh In on Regulations

Congressman and small businessman Chris Collins is encouraging local small business owners to weigh in on proposed federal regulations through a new interactive website developed by the House Small Business Committee.  Small Biz Reg Watch is an online resource for small business owners located on the House Small Business Committee website.  It will detail proposed federal regulations that would impact small companies and give small business men and woman the ability to direct their comments on the proposals to the appropriate federal agency.

"As someone who has spent nearly 40 years in the small business world, I know the burden of having to comply with countless federal regulations, often with little or no advance warning," said Collins.  "Small business owners are too busy running their business to keep up with the barrage of new federal regulations that are not only time consuming, but often cut into a company’s bottom line.  Since the people dreaming up these new rules have likely never spent a single day running a small business and employing people, they do not grasp the ramifications of these regulations.  Small Biz Reg Watch will give small business owners an opportunity to monitor proposed regulations and speak out against them."

"In addition to recently raising their taxes, Washington continues to stick small businesses with more red tape each and every year," continued Collins.  "How do we expect small businesses to grow and hire more Americans when Washington continues to take more of their hard-earned money and burden them with new and expensive regulations, including ObamaCare."

Collins is a member of the House Small Business Committee and is Chair of the Subcommittee on Health and Technology, which has direct oversight on healthcare costs for small businesses.
