Congressman Chris Collins Applauds Local Legislators for Opposing SAFE Act

“I want to applaud local legislators for standing up for the rights of law abiding gun owners.  Today, the Minority Caucus of the Erie County Legislature pushed through a resolution opposing New York State’s so-called SAFE Act.  Erie joins Livingston, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties in passing resolutions officially opposing this legislation.  I know other local governments within the 27th Congressional District are also considering such measures. 

It is important that elected leaders at all levels of government stand together in support of the Second Amendment and the fundamental rights of law abiding gun owners.  While our local legislators continue to push back against New York State’s new laws, the residents of the 27th Congressional District can continue to count on me to be a strong advocate for the Second Amendment.”
