Paulette Gough of Lake View Selected for Recognition

Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27) today released the following statement recognizing United States Coast Guard Veteran, Paulette Gough, of Lake View, as New York’s 27th Congressional District’s ‘Veteran of the Month’ for May. The ‘Veteran of the Month’ is a new program established by Congressman Collins’ office to recognize the dedication and service of NY-27’s veterans.

“I was honored to have the opportunity to meet with Paulette, and hear her share memories of her time in the Coast Guard,” said Congressman Collins. “Seeing Paulette receive this honor, surrounded by family and friends, was truly special. We are all very grateful for her service. My office will continue to recognize a local ‘Veteran of the Month’ as a small thank you to the thousands of Western New York veterans who have selflessly served our country.”

Paulette Gough served in the United States Coast Guard for 24 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3 on May 1st, 2015. Paulette earned a number of medals and commendations during her service with the U.S. Coast Guard, including five USCG Commendation medals, three Meritorious Team Commendation Ribbons, two National Defense Ribbons, and a Humanitarian Service Medal. Congressman Collins joined Paulette’s son, her husband Paul, and neighbors at a ceremony where Paulette was presented with a Congressional Certificate of Commendation and a flag flown over the United States Capitol Building. Mrs. Gough was presented this recognition at her home on Saturday, May 28, 2016.
