Congressman Chris Collins Joins with Family Advocates to Stress Importance of 21st Century Cures
Congressman Chris Collins today joined with four children suffering from rare diseases, their families, and University at Buffalo officials to discuss the importance of the 21st Century Cures Act and urged the U.S. Senate to quickly pass this bipartisan legislation.
“The 21st Century Cures Act will help millions of Americans battling rare diseases,” said Congressman Collins. “After unanimously passing through the House Energy and Commerce Committee and passing the House with an overwhelming vote of 344-77, it is now time for the Senate to quickly pass this life-saving legislation.
“The 21st Century Cures Act will help revolutionize how the health care industry develops cures to deadly diseases, and I am confident this legislation's positive effects will be felt by hundreds of thousands of Western New Yorkers. I want to thank the families and University at Buffalo officials for joining me today and I will continue to stress how vital this legislation will be for those suffering from rare diseases.”
