Congressman Chris Collins Helps Secure $194,862 Grant for the Perry-Warsaw Airport

Sep 15, 2016
Press Release

Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27) today announced $194,862 in federal funding from the Federal Aviation Administration for the Perry-Warsaw Airport, located in Wyoming County. The grant will assist the Perry-Warsaw Airport in funding a replacement front loader with a plow attachment to ensure the airport is serviceable during snow periods.

“Investing federal funds to support local infrastructure projects will establish an environment suitable for future economic growth,” said Congressman Collins. “This grant will equip the Perry-Warsaw Airport with the resources they need to ensure the safety of incoming and outgoing travelers. Grants like these allow for more efficient operations, which increases air-traffic to the airport, and ultimately benefits Wyoming County.”

“This $194,862 in federal funding will ensure that our airport is well-suited to attract future economic development and tourism opportunities,” said Jim Brick, Perry Town Supervisor. “This equipment will replace our outdated and aging front loader that will undoubtedly improve the safety of all travelers. We look forward to continuing working with Congressman Collins to improve the Perry-Warsaw Airport.”

The Congressman’s office remains available to assist any local government pursuing a federal grant.
