Congressman Chris Collins Discusses Ride Sharing Services
Congressman Chris Collins (NY-27) today released the following statement after discussing ride sharing regulations during a Committee on Small Business hearing entitled, “Barriers to Entrepreneurship: Examining the Anti-Trust Implications of Occupational Licensing.”
“As smart phones and the innovations that come from their usage increase, the federal government must carefully balance regulation with growth opportunities,” said Congressman Collins. “Innovations such as ride sharing services present a tremendous opportunity to provide consumers with cheaper and more efficient transit options. But in order for these innovations to continue to expand, the government must not stifle their growth with burdensome and excessive regulations.”
