Defense and National Security

Providing for the common defense of our nation is identified in the Constitution as one of the most important responsibilities of the federal government. Congress must ensure our nation’s defenses are in a constant state of readiness. In order to achieve this goal our armed forces must be well led, efficiently organized, armed and equipped with the best technology available, and superbly trained. Our brave men and women in uniform—especially our wounded warriors—and veterans deserve our unwavering support and should receive all the benefits they have earned as a result of their service to our great nation.
