WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Bob Gibbs, joined by Senator Rob Portman, Speaker John Boehner, and 10 other members from Ohio, sent a letter to President Obama on Wednesday raising questions regarding the process and authority of Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell to unilaterally rename Mount McKinley.  Secretary Jewell announced on Sunday evening she used a ‘Secretarial Order’ to change the name of Mount McKinley, overriding the Board of Geographic Names and ignoring pending legislation in the House of Representatives.

U.S. Rep. Bob Gibbs (R-OH) announced today that Ohio’s 7th Congressional District will begin accepting submissions for the 2015 Congressional Art Competition. The winning artwork will be displayed for one year in the U.S. Capitol.

Congressman Gibbs welcomed Trevor Poole, a junior from Dover High School, the winner of the 2014 Congressional Art Competition to Washington D.C. on June 26th. Trevor’s artwork entitled, “Corporal Poole,” is a portrait of his father who served 4 years in the Marines and was a part of Operation Restore Hope. The winning piece of art will be displayed in the United States Capitol for one year alongside artwork from congressional districts throughout the country.
