Cárdenas to Veterans, Service Members: "We Are Here For You"

Nov 11, 2016
Press Release

SAN FERNANDO VALLEY, CA – Today, Congressman Tony Cárdenas (D-San Fernando Valley) issued the following statement in honor of Veterans Day:

“Today, we celebrate and honor the men, women, and families who have sacrificed so much to defend the United States of America,” said Congressman Cárdenas. “Service members, Veterans, and military families, I want you to know that while we gather today to celebrate you, it’s our duty to have your back every single day.  I am dedicated to serving you. We are here for you. We are your family, neighbors, Members of Congress, Veterans Service Organizations, local governments, VA facilities, and countless others. I want you to know that you can and should ask for help. There are resources that we can guide you through, from mental health counseling to pathways for employment.

“When you served, you and your fellow service members were a unit. You had your brothers’ and sisters’ backs. When you get home, we are your unit. We have your back. If you see one of your brothers or sisters having trouble, encourage them to turn to us for help. You have done so much to take care of us, so know that we are here to take care of you. Thank you all for the protection you have provided us. Have a safe and peaceful Veterans Day.”
