Kyle Matous
Chief of Staff

Kyle Matous grew up in Temple, Texas, and graduated in 2007 from the University of Virginia, where he studied American Politics. Before beginning law school at Pepperdine University in 2009, he worked for the Rimm-Kaufman Group, a Charlottesville-based search and digital marketing agency. During law school, Kyle clerked for the Ugandan Commercial Court in Kampala, Uganda, in international commercial arbitration for WilmerHale in London, UK, and for the Institute for Justice, a Washington-based nonprofit constitutional law firm.

Kyle started working on the Hill as a staff assistant for the House Committee on Rules for Chairman David Dreier in 2012. He served Chairman Sessions as a policy assistant for nine months with the Committee before moving to work as a legislative assistant in his personal office. Kyle then worked as the Policy Director for the Rules Committee before being named Chief of Staff for the Congressman.

Katherine Runkle
Executive Assistant/Scheduler

Katherine Runkle was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. In 2013 she graduated from the College of Charleston where she majored in Business and Hospitality with a marketing concentration. After graduation she moved to Washington, DC and worked for Senator Jeff Sessions and Congressman Spencer Bachus before joing Congressman Pete Sessions office.

Favorite Dallas Sports Team: Texas Rangers

 

Caroline Boothe
Communications Director

Caroline Boothe was born and raised in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2013, she graduated from Southern Methodist University where she majored in Corporate Communications and Public Affairs and double minored in Business and Law. During college, Caroline worked with the Office of George W. Bush where she served as the correspondence intern. Prior to accepting her position as communications director, she served as the press assistant with Congressman Sessions’ office in DC.

Jennifer Lackey
Legislative Director

Jennifer Lackey is a North Texas native and graduated in 2009 from Texas A&M University, where she studied Communication and Classics. After graduation, Jennifer started on Capitol Hill as a staff assistant for the House Judiciary Committee under then-Chairman Lamar Smith (TX-21). After serving as Legislative Assistant, Clerk, and Deputy Parliamentarian for the Judiciary Committee, she became Legislative Director and Rules Associate for Congressman Doug Collins from Northeast Georgia. After 3 ½ years with Mr. Collins, she returned to her Texas roots as Legislative Director for Congressman Pete Sessions.

Ryan Ethington
Senior Legislative Assistant

Ryan Ethington was born and raised in Dallas, TX. After graduating from Highland Park High School, Ryan attended the University of Richmond where he earned a B.A. in Leadership Studies with a double major in Political Science.  During college, Ryan interned for Congressman Sessions in his Washington, D.C. office. Upon graduation, he served as a Staff Assistant before assuming his role as Legislative Assistant. Ryan advises Congressman Sessions on the environment, foreign affairs, second amendment rights, agriculture, oversight and government reform, energy, telecommunications, small business, transportation, and immigration issues.

Emily Erb
Legislative Assistant

Emily Erb is originally from Wichita, Kansas. She graduated from Southern Methodist University in 2013 with degrees in Chemistry and Psychology, as well as minors in Biology and Mathematics. After working for a year with a health care organization in Dallas, Texas, she joined Congressman Sessions' office in Washington, DC. She served as an intern for the Congressman prior to joining the staff full-time as Legislative Assistant.

Ike Crews
Legislative Correspondent


Ike Crews was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He graduated from St. Marks High School, went on to receive his BA from Davidson University, and is currently attending George Washington University to earn his MA in International Affairs. Prior to joining Congressman Sessions' office as a Legislative Correspondent he served as an intern to the Congressman's DC office as well as an intern for the House Committee on Homeland Security.

Piper Vaughn
Staff Assistant

Piper Vaughn was born and raised in Dallas, TX. After graduating from Highland Park High School, Piper attended the University of Texas at Austin where she earned a B.A. in Government with a Spanish Minor, and a Business Foundations Certificate from the McCombs School of Business. During college, Piper worked with the Office of Speaker Joe Straus at the Texas House of Representatives, as a policy intern and chief of staff intern. Upon graduation in May 2016, she moved to Washington and is currently serving as a Staff Assistant in Congressman Sessions' DC office.
