The Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce hosted a grand opening for a new financial planning firm in Duluth this week.

David and Shawn Cross, owners of U.S. Asset Management, hosted friends, family, employees and clients to celebrate the grand opening.

Among the attendees were Jason Chandler, president of the Gwinnett Medical Center Foundation, and State Sen. David Shafer. Congressman Rob Woodall and Gwinnett County Chairwoman Charlotte Nash spoke at the event.

Woodall, who has known David Cross for more than 10 years, thanked the Cross family for having the vision to serve others both professionally and with charity. Nash discussed the “Parable of the Talents” and how the story related to the business that aims to help client achieve their dreams.

Cross said one of the reasons for opening the firm was to realize his dream of giving away $1 million annually to charity before he turns 60. He cited his friendship with philanthropists Clyde and Sandra Strickland of Lawrenceville as being an inspiration for opening the company and reaching his future gifting goal.

The firm offers investment and financial planning for individuals, corporations and charities.

Cross has more than 25 years of investment experience at major firms.
