Olson Statement on Retirement of Sam Johnson

Washington, DC - Rep. Pete Olson (R-TX) today issued the following statement after Rep. Sam Johnson (R-TX) announced that he will retire at the end of the 115th Congress:

"Sam Johnson is a living American legend; his service and dedication to this great nation are unparalleled. It has been an honor and a privilege to serve in the House with him. From his military service and surviving seven years as a prisoner of war in Vietnam, to his years of devoted public service in Congress, Sam Johnson is truly an inspirational human being. Words cannot describe the contributions he has made to our country and this institution. I look forward to soaking up more of his knowledge as we work together for his last congressional term. It's the honor of my life to call him "friend.”
