Rep. Meadows Joins Inaugural Second Amendment Caucus

Dec 13, 2016
Press Release

Washington, D.C. – Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC) is among a group of several conservative Congressional members who have formed the new “Second Amendment Caucus.”

The group, led by Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), was finalized last week with the goal of developing and advancing legislation that will protect Americans’ Second Amendment rights while acting as a guard against over-reaching proposals. The group will also place a strong emphasis on firearm safety education, and they plan to hear from experts in the field on a regular basis on how to better address gun safety.

“The Second Amendment is one of the most fundamental liberties in our nation’s history, and I’m honored to join my colleagues in a concerted effort to defend it,” Rep. Meadows said. “When the American people spoke on November 8, they provided conservatives a unique opportunity to advance principles and legislation that put the rights of Americans and our Constitution first. I look forward to working with my fellow caucus members to developing a pro-Second Amendment agenda and sending a clear message that the rights of our citizens shall not be infringed.”
