The Subcommittee on Regulatory Reform, Commercial and Antitrust Law consists of 10 members, representing both parties, and has jurisdiction over, “bankruptcy and commercial law, bankruptcy judgeships, administrative law, independent counsel, state taxation affecting interstate commerce, interstate compacts, antitrust matters, other appropriate matters as referred by the Chairman, and relevant oversight.”

Washington D.C. – Last night, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 26, the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act of 2017, which requires an up-or-down vote by Congress before any new regulation with at least a $100 million effect on the economy can be implemented.

Washington, D.C. — The House Judiciary Committee today approved the “Require Evaluation before Implementing Executive Wishlists Act of 2015 (REVIEW Act)” (H.R. 3438) by a vote of 18-13.
Washington, D.C. — According to the Labor Department’s May 2016 Jobs Report, the U.S. added only 38,000 jobs. In addition, the workforce participation rate dropped to 62.6 percent, a near four decade low. Rep. Tom Marino (PA-10) released the following statement in response to the report:

Res. 22, a resolution which disapproves of the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) definition of “Waters of the United States,” commonly known as the “WOTUS rule.” The measure passed the House of Representatives by a vote of 253-166 under the Congressional Review Act (CRA) which allows Congress to send this important legislation to President Obama’s desk.
