Representing the 1st District of New Mexico

Service Academy Nominations

One of my duties as United States Representative is nominating outstanding young people from New Mexico to our nation's military service academies. The President of the United States, the Vice President, Members of Congress, and other agencies and organizations have the authority to nominate individuals to a military service academy, and I have put together the following information for high school students or recent graduates who want to dedicate their talents and leadership in service to our country.

Our 2016 application process runs from April 5 through Oct. 14, 2016.

Please contact Jon Moore in my District Office at Jon.Moore@mail.house.gov or Arturo Lemos at Arturo.Lemos@mail.house.gov You can also call (505) 346-6781 before beginning the application process. Find the application packet here

If you have a question about a specific academy, please contact the academy's admissions office directly. In addition to applying for a nomination, all applicants must apply directly to the service academies. You can find out more about our great military academies at the following links:

United States Military Academy in West Point, NY
United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD
United States Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO
United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY
United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut

*The US Coast Guard Academy does not require a nomination; however, my office can write a letter of recommendation upon request approval.
