I'm so dumbfounded by how you (all states chamber of commerce, state legislatur es) just let these greedy corporatio ns off the hook.
It's one thing to give breaks to a company that will actually be around well past the time the incentivesexpire. It's entirely different when there's no consequenc e for bailing every time another chamber makes the next most ridiculous incentive program.
Completelyobsurd. If I were to continuall y fail so badly, I'd expect to be replaced.
How hard is it collaborate with fellow states chambers? When you act like rivals instead of a team, then you will continue to lose.
It's really not that hard. Set national standards and limitations across the board.
Think of it this way, in the NBA, only the current team a player is on, can offer a max contract. The thing is a player can't just go play some where else while under contract. If the player decides to go elsewhere when they're a free agent then they get less because of the salary restrictions placed on the new team.
In conclusion, the American people advise you to stop short changing us and figure it out!
I gave you a foundationto work with, not just complainin g about a problem, also offered a simple, sensible solution.
You can even go a step further and make it so the states with a higher unemployment rate can offer the best allowable incentive program under the "national standards" laws.
Get to drafting please, cuz quite frankly, it's not our job, we can always hire someone else.
