It's beautiful in northern Wisconsin right now- here's the view outside our Wausau office. But friendly reminder: the roads are nasty, so if you have to travel please be safe out there!
Check out WEAU 13 News's coverage of our first our first Town Hall meeting of 2017 in Chippewa County. We discussed how #Obamacare was based on a lie and isn't working for the American people, and other important issues facing Wisconsin and our nation.
Our hearts ache today, as another one of our nation's cops was gunned down- this time in Orlando, Florida. Today is also National #LawEnforcementAppreciationDay, and we should pray for our cops who keep us safe and for their families who worry every day if their loved ones will return home after a shift on the beat. And of course, if you see a cop on the street, thank them for all that they do.

Government works best when we discuss the issues with each other- that's why Town Hall meetings are so important. Great to see everyone at our first Town Hall of 2017 in Chippewa Falls!
I am now chairman of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing & Insurance.
Many elements of our housing market need to be made to work for all Wisconsinitesโrural families, in particular, have been left behind. I look forward to working with Dr. Carson to bring much needed change to HUD and to improve housing for all. Iโll defend Wisconsin taxpayers as we reform National Flood Insurance, the FHA, and other programs. Iโll also ensure that the Wisconsin insurance industry, an important engine of our stateโs economy, has a strong voice in Congress.

I recently spoke with WEAU 13 News about how we're going to spur economic growth by creating a more friendly and fair tax code and rolling back burdensome regulations. Watch below!
It's a new Congress and I have a new office (Rayburn 2330), but I'm still fighting to bring our Wisconsin values and ideas to Washington! If you're from the CD-7, stop by the office and say hi!
Happy New Year, everyone! Hopefully the Green Bay Packers can usher #Wisconsin into 2017 right with a win tonight!

Cranberries are not only delicious, but they are also a critical part of Wisconsinโs economy. That's why it's an honor to receive 2017's Service To Industry Award from Wisconsin Cranberries.
Our cops go to work every day to make sure our communities are safe - even if they happen to be an 18-month-old Belgian malinois! Our community is happy to welcome Monty to the Marathon County Sheriff's Office! #ThankACopThursday

You can't milk an almond or a seed. That's why I urge the FDA to enforce the definition of milk- that it comes from cows! I recently spoke with WSAW NewsChannel 7 about how other products should not be able to mislead the public and identify as milk- consumers and our dairy farmers deserve this clarification.

It's disgraceful how backwards President Obama's foreign policy is: he allows our close ally Israel to be singled-out and castigated by the U.N., but he goes out of his way to reward adversaries like Iran and Cuba. This worldview has left America worse off; I will continue to stand with Israel and their goal of lasting peace. #StandWithIsrael
Our local cops go to work every day to make our communities a better place to live - sometimes in ways you wouldn't expect!
And instead of receiving a ticket, this University of Wisconsin-Stout student received a lesson in tying a tie before a big presentation. Now THAT'S well-deserving of a #ThankACopThursday

ISIS has said they are willing to exploit our acceptance of refugees.
That's why today I wrote President Obama, demanding that before he allows any refugees from places with a high terror threat (like Syria) he must declassify the vetting process used for allowing Syrian refugees into the U.S., and that he assures the public that new refugees pose no threat to the American people.
Check out the details of my letter in this Washington Free Beacon piece.
... See MoreI spoke with Fox News's Martha MacCallum last night about how millions of Americans are concerned about skyrocketing healthcare costs, our lackluster economy, and the fact that ISIS is able to inspire people around the world to commit terrorism. Americans voted for Republicans in November to solve these major problems - they will be our top priority!
