Intern with Congressman Kind

My Washington, D.C. office is currently accepting applications for internships. Duties include researching policy issues, responding to constituent mail, answering phones, distributing interoffice mail, and performing daily office tasks. Interns will have the opportunity to attend Congressional committee hearings, as well as other events. Candidates must be self-starters, professional communicators and have excellent writing and computer skills. My internship program is flexible and, if selected, I will do my best to accommodate your schedule.

Congressman Kind's La Crosse office is currently looking for interns. Students should be interested in the federal legislative process and political science. Students should also be enthusiastic and posses strong communication skills as they will often be required to interact with constituents. All majors are welcome to apply.

Interns perform a variety of tasks, including: constituent relations, monitoring community events, issue and legislative research, writing constituent mail, administrative duties, and various other assignments.  District interns will also perform community outreach with Congressman and staff to understand how federal legislation impacts local communities.  We try to match assignments with specific interests so that interns get the most out of their experience.

Interested applicants must be able to devote a minimum of 10 hours per week to be eligible for academic credit.

January 21 for spring
May 1 for summer
August 15 for fall
