A year ago this month, the government increased control over one of the most highly personal healthcare decisions an individual can make when the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) began paying doctors to counsel patients about end-of-life care.
The worldview behind the policy has not changed since then and government control over this intimate choice is still intolerable to those who respect the dignity of human life.
With the forthcoming repeal of Obamacare, there is widespread agreement that the American people deserve policies that will offer healthcare solutions, not temporary fixes that will cause even more financial distress for consumers.
Today, I have re-introduced two pieces of legislation in an effort to provide sensible and affordable healthcare for all Americans.
"'Two-state solution' is a misnomer and euphemism for creating a Hamas-Iran-Fatah-Palestinian-Arab terrorist state on Jewish land that would endanger Israel’s existence, by, among other things, subjecting all of Israel, including its airport and major cities, to constant rocket attack. A Palestinian-Arab Hamas terrorist state in Judea/Samaria would be another Gaza-type terrorist enclave and missile-launching pad."
"According to Congress, the bill was also known as the 'Stop Illegal Reentry Act.' Under it, any immigrant who returned to the U.S. illegally after being deported would face a minimum of five years in a federal prison.
But Democrats argued the bill would just be too much work for state workers, as 57,000 people would fill federal jails as a result of the law.
It’s quite sad that some lawmakers prefer to put the importance of money over the lives of their country’s own citizens."

Today, I placed this blue light in the window of my office to honor our men and women in blue for National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. I am honored to stand with our law enforcement as they work every single day to serve and protect us.
Last year, 135 officers made the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in service to their communities. Despite the dangers of the job, the men and women who wear the badge heed the call to serve and willingly face those risks every day in order to create safe communities for all Americans.

In his push for amnesty for criminals, the president ignored the price paid by victims – the price paid by Kate Steinle as she died in her father’s arms on San Francisco’s waterfront. Kate’s beautiful life was taken from her on July 1, 2015 when she was shot in the back by an illegal alien who had previously been deported five times and was seeking refuge in a so-called 'sanctuary city.'
It is a disgrace that a year and a half has passed since Kate was tragically murdered and... yet innocent Americans continue to be victimized by illegal aliens who repeatedly re-enter our country and are harbored in our own cities. It is time we finally act to protect Americans from these 100% preventable crimes, and Kate’s Law would help ensure that criminal aliens are deterred from illegally reentering the United States to prey on innocent men, women and children.

Today, I introduced an amendment, similar to my Sunset Act, to H.R. 26, Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny Act of 2017 (REINS Act).
