Really cool photo of the supermoon over Evansville. Did you catch it or snap a picture of your own?

A supermoon is "the coincidence of a full moon or a new moon with the closest approach the Moon makes to the Earth on its elliptical orbit, resulting in the largest apparent size of the lunar disk as seen from Earth," according to Wikipedia (so it mu

The new Congress will have a short time to repeal regulations finalized since May.

Great message from Paul Ryan: “Welcome to the dawn of a new unified Republican government...This will be a government focused on turning President-elect Trump’s victory into real progress for the American people. Our team is very excited, and we cannot wait to get to work."

“We have to go big.” That was the message Speaker Ryan delivered this morning at a press briefing with House Republican leaders. Below are his full opening remarks:

#THROWBACKTHURSDAY
From September 2013 remarks to The Ripon Society

Dr. Larry Bucshon delivers a prescient warning about the Affordable Care Act: “I see Obamaca...re as a coverage bill that’s not going to cover everyone and does nothing to contain the costs. As the costs continue to go up in health care, the access to obtain health care is going to go down. As a physician, the bottom line for me is what’s good for my patient. The Obamacare bill is not good for our patients in this country. It is going to limit access, and I think is going to result in ultimately rationing health care based on the dollars that are available to pay for it. And as a physician, that’s just not the right approach.”

Speaker Paul Ryan

In a nation of 323 million people, it makes no sense for one federal bureaucracy to dictate Americans' health insurance plans. House Republicans offer a better way.

During his speech yesterday, it was clear that President Obama is in still denial about Obamacare. The law has been a disaster and needs to be replaced by a patient-centered plan. That's why I support the ideas put forth by House Republicans in our #ABetterWay agenda: https://goo.gl/UOHXyN.

The ObamaCare sticker shock is getting even worse in some parts of the country, as more and more states are approving soaring rate increases for next year- with one Arizona town seeing a 75 percent hike and another in Minnesota seeing a 190 percent increase in deductibles over the course of four yea...

"Yet these regulations – if federal court fails to step in – will cease further development of coal technologies. Meaning there will be no new coal-fueled power plants built in the United States, and advancements in cleaner-coal technologies will become part of the past, not our future."

Coal would become cleaner if EPA regulations were in line.

Great story about the USS LST 325 Memorial in Evansville!

Over 70 years have passed since the Allied forces stormed Omaha Beach in Normandy, France during World War II, but a historic relic from that time still lives on.
