After being injured during my service in combat in Iraq, I learned firsthand how important the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is for people living with a... disability. It’s absolutely crucial that the next Attorney General works to protect all civil rights, including disability rights, which is why I am deeply troubled by this nominee’s record on disability rights. The ADA’s protections make my life possible, just as they do for millions of Americans living with a physical or mental disability. Disability rights are civil rights, so any nominee for Attorney General will come under scrutiny from me to ensure they are prepared to protect the rights of all Americans, including those living with a disability.
