Combating Ohio’s Opioid Epidemic

“The heroin and opioid epidemic is one of the fastest growing health care crises in Ohio. I support efforts to prevent addiction, help people recover and increase education on the risks of opioid and drug abuse. I supported the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act, which is now law and authorizes additional resources for communities and states to respond to this epidemic, boosts education efforts and community-based prevention, and expands resources and tools law enforcement officials need to save more lives. My priority is to continue to listen to the needs of the community and ensure we are making strong steps to fight the heroin and opioid epidemic on all fronts. That is why I introduced bipartisan legislation called the STOP Act that aims to stop dangerous synthetic drugs from being shipped through the mail into the U.S. from countries like China."—Pat Tiberi
