Created as a county by the General Assembly in 1813, Lebanon County is home to 134,000 people, approximately half of whom reside in the 15th Congressional District.
The people of Lebanon County still hew strongly to their Pennsylvania Dutch heritage in everything from their folk art to their cuisine, delicious Lebanon Bologna, for example.
The City of Lebanon serves as the county seat.
Fort Indiantown Gap, or "The Gap" is located within the 15th District area of Lebanon County. The post covers 18,000 square acres and provides training support for the 28th Infrantry Division, the 213th Area Support Group, and the Eastern Army National Guard Aviation Training Site.
The county is also home to Lebanon Valley College.
