Flags

The American flag has long been a national symbol of unity and freedom. You, too, can have a piece of this history and express your patriotism by owning a flag that has flown over the United States Capitol Building. As your representative in Congress, I am honored to assist you in ordering your own American flag. You may choose from several different sizes and materials. For an additional fee, you may request that the flag be flown over the US Capitol in honor, memory, or recognition of a person, special event, or occasion. A certificate of recognition will accompany the flag courtesy of the Architect of the Capitol.

You will also have the option to request the flags purchased to be flown over the Capitol.

Care of the Flag

Most outdoor flags can be washed in mild detergent and thoroughly rinsed. Indoor and parade flags should be dry-cleaned. Damaged flags can be repaired and utilized as long as the overall dimensions are not noticeably altered. American Legion Posts and local governments often have facilities to dispose of unserviceable flags. Store your flag in a clean, well ventilated area.
