Internships

My Washington, D.C. and Greenville, N.C. offices offer internships for college students and recent graduates.  This opportunity provides invaluable work experience, as well as a chance to see how the legislative process works firsthand.  Hours are flexible to accommodate interns' schedules, but generally run from 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. when Congress is in session and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. when not in session. Internship start and end dates are negotiable and at this time, are unpaid.

While duties between the Greenville and Washington offices will differ, interns' responsibilities may include, though are not limited to: answering phones, maintaining the front office, processing mail, attending hearings and briefings, and assisting staff with research and constituent services.  This is a great opportunity for applicants who are interested in the political process and are seeking practical, hands-on experience in a professional environment.

Prospective interns should be responsible, focused, self-motivated, and organized. North Carolina ties are preferred, but not essential.  To apply for an internship, please complete the application and attach a resume and cover letter through the link at the bottom of the page.  If you have any questions, or would like more information on Congressional Internships, —please contact my Washington, D.C. office at 202-225-3415
