Affordable Care Act Repeal and Replace

Congress is poised to make good on the commitment of fixing the failures imposed on Alaskans and Americans across the nation by the Affordable Care Act. Know that I will work with Alaskans to deliver a better system that addresses many of our state’s unique healthcare challenges.

I have heard from many of you who have weighed in on the issue by contacting my office, either by phone or e-mail. I recognize that there is uncertainty right now as to what the repeal and replace plan will ultimately look like, and I appreciate everyone who has shared their concerns with me.

As we work to control the rising cost of healthcare, I am committed to ensuring that protections are put in place that will give Alaskans both stability and affordability. This includes making sure Alaskans continue to receive coverage, including those with pre-existing conditions or who are covered on their parents’ policies. And I commit to ensuring women continue to have access to preventative healthcare that has been provided by Planned Parenthood.

I encourage you to remain engaged and continue to express your views to me as we kick off this new Congress.
