Representative Joe Wilson

Representing the 2th District of South Carolina

Veterans Fairs

As a retiree from the U.S. Army Reserve and the South Carolina Army National Guard with four sons currently serving in the U.S. military, I believe it is a top priority to protect and provide for those who have honorably served to defend America and our citizens at home. I regularly hear from veterans across South Carolina’s Second Congressional District who are struggling with the transition from military to civilian life and need assistance. I also hear from veterans who are discouraged with their job hunt. To help our nation’s heroes, I began holding annual Veterans Fairs in the Aiken–Barnwell area and the Midlands.

Location details for this year’s fairs are listed below:

Veterans Fair – Midlands
Tuesday, March 8, 2016
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Brookland Baptist Church Health and Wellness Center
1066 Sunset Boulevard
West Columbia, SC 29169

Veterans Fair – Aiken–Barnwell
hosted with Operation Palmetto Employment
Thursday, March 10, 2016
10:00 AM – 2:00 PM
SCANG Armory in Graniteville
365 Bettis Academy Road
Graniteville, SC 29829

These Veterans Fairs will place employers, agencies that handle benefits, and veterans together to better connect veterans with available resources and help returned soldiers find quality jobs. Employers and agencies, including UPS, Social Security, the National Guard, and more, will join me in the Aiken-Barnwell area and in the Midlands with the goal of hiring and assisting South Carolina veterans.

I hope you will join us and invite any veterans you know.

It is an honor to serve you in Congress.

Sincerely,
