Congressman Joe Wilson (SC-02) issued the following statement on the retirement of Congressman Sam Johnson (TX-3).
"Congressman Sam Johnson is an American hero—a man who has served his country with honor and distinction as a member of the Air Force, endured unspeakable horror as a prisoner of war at the Hanoi Hilton prison in Vietnam, and who has been a faithful and dedicated public servant for the state of Texas. It has always been humbling and inspiring for me to introduce him to constituents, particularly military personnel.
Throughout my time in Congress I have been grateful to serve with Congressman Johnson, and his leadership will be greatly missed. Best wishes to Sam on his next chapter."
