Washington, D.C. – Congressman Diane Black (R-TN-06) welcomed 27 middle Tennessee World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans to Washington D.C. this week as part of a visit with Honor Flight of Middle Tennessee. The program provides area veterans with a free one-day trip to the nation’s capital to visit their memorials.  Congressman Black released the following statement:

“Coming from a family of veterans, it is a special privilege for me to welcome these Volunteer State heroes to the memorials built in their honor. The Honor Flight program is a truly worthwhile cause. By providing veterans with this all-expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C., it gives them the tribute they never asked for, but that they are certainly due. I am grateful to everyone at Middle Tennessee Honor Flight who work to make these trips possible and for letting me be a small part of today’s event,” said Congressman Diane Black.
