Through my role as a member of Ways and Means, I was chosen to be one of only three committee members to serve as a liaison to the House Budget Committee, where I will take part in the drafting of the annual House budget.  Below you will find descriptions of my committees and links to their websites.

Committee on Ways and Means

The Committee on Ways and Means is the oldest committee of the United States Congress, and is the chief tax-writing committee in the House of Representatives. Committee on the Budget

Established during an era of unprecedented institutional reform in Congress, the Committee on the Budget’s function derives from the constitutional mandate that fixes control of the nation’s purse in the U.S. House of Representatives. Although Congress has always possessed the legal authority to exercise power over federal appropriations, a formal institutional mechanism to manage taxes and spending did not exist until 1974.
