Chairman Rob Bishop

 

Rob Bishop has represented Utah’s First Congressional District in the U.S. Congress since 2003. He is the current Chairman of the House Committee on Natural Resources. Rob also serves on the House Armed Service Committee as a member of the Readiness Subcommittee.

Bishop was born and raised in Utah and graduated magna cum laude from the University of Utah with a degree in Political Science. In 1974, he moved to Bringham City and began his 28-year career as an educator teaching high school U.S. History and government.  During this time he served 16 years in the Utah State Legislature, going on to become the House Majority Leader and Speaker of the House during his final two years. 

Bishop currently resides in Bringham City with his wife, Jeralynn, and their five children.
