Our office is here to help federal grant seekers through the grant application process. Knowing where to begin is often one of the most difficult tasks for grant seekers. Below you will find resources and helpful guides as you navigate the opportunities for federal grant money. Finding and Applying for a Grant
From the initial research of the grant opportunity, to navigating the grants online system, Representative Polis’ Grants Coordinator can help you with this process. While there is thousands of grant opportunities, the Grant coordinator will help you start and give you the tools, you need to research and find the perfect grant for your organization.
Letter of Support/ Letter of Interest
If you need a letter of support or a letter of interest for your organization or for your grant application, our office is able to help you prepare one of these letters. Please contact the Grants Coordinator with a summary of the grant and a template letter along with a completed Request for Grant Assistance form.
Quick Grant Tips:
- Find out Who is Eligible for a Grant? Other government websites may be more suitable for personal needs, student loans, small business assistance , or other business opportunities such as government contracting. The website Government Benefits, Grants, and Financial Aid may also be of help.
- If eligible, search for program information in the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA). Includes grants, loans, business and nonfinancial help.
- Contact federal office given in CFDA program description: if state or local office is indicated, check Regional Agency Offices at top of CFDA website for addresses.
- Check current federal grants opportunities at Grants.gov, obtain a Dun and Bradstreet ( DUNS) number, register with System for Award Management (SAM), and apply online (links and instructions given at the website). Additional notices appear at FedConnect.net.
- Search foundations for project funding: use the Foundation Center Web site or Foundation Center Cooperating Collections in libraries to identify national, state, and community foundations.
- Learn how to write grant proposals: follow Developing and Writing Grant Proposals, or take the free online Foundation Center Proposal Writing Short Course.

Jared's staff needs a signed letter or privacy authorization form from you, giving permission to look into your case. The Privacy Act of 1974 does not allow inquiries without written consent. Under the law, an e-mail will not suffice as a release. You must provide a written signature.
