Tour Requests

Washington, D.C. is an amazing place for people of all ages and interests to visit. Below you can find information on some of the District’s most popular attractions, which our office can help you place tour requests for.

Due to overwhelming demand for tours from people all across the country, we ask everyone to send in their tour requests as early as possible. Each institution that you request to visit confirms or denies each inquiry, so we cannot guarantee any request.

Please fill out the following form and a member of our staff will follow up for more information, or try to make other arrangements if your tour cannot be accommodated. Please only list full days that you are in Washington (not travel days), to ensure our request reflects your best availability. You may also call our Tour Coordinator at 202-224-4543 with any questions.

White House

White House tours require additional security clearance information, so we ask that you submit your tour requests with ample time for us to acquire this information. As soon as we receive your request, we will follow up by email for the additional information. Because of the high volume of tour requests the White House receives, we recommend that you submit your tour request as soon as possible. Please note that White House tours can be requested up to three months in advance, but must be requested at least 21 days in advance.

The White House is open for self-guided tours Tuesday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The White House is not open for tours on Sundays, Mondays, or Federal Holidays. These tours are generally 45 minutes to one hour long.

United States Capitol

The Capitol Visitors Center is open from 8:50AM to 3:20PM on Monday through Saturday for guided tours of the United States Capitol Building. It is recommended that Capitol Tours are booked one month in advance. Additionally, gallery passes for the Senate and House floors can be obtained at Senator Warren’s office, which is located in the Hart Senate Building, Office Suite 317. The floor galleries are open from 9:00AM to 4:30PM on Monday through Friday, only on days that the House and Senate are in session.

Bureau of Engraving and Printing

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing offers tours Monday through Friday at 8:15AM and 8:45AM. During the months of April through August, the Bureau of Engraving and Printing also offers tours every 15 minutes from 4:00pm to 4:45pm. Due to a high volume of requests, we recommend that you request this tour at least two to three months in advance. Please note that from September through February tickets and reservations are not required. Walk-up tours run every 15 minutes from 9:00am to 10:45am and from 12:30pm to 2:00pm.
