No leases can be signed before they have been approved by the Administrative Counsel.

Important Notices About Office and Storage Leases

Office leases for the 115th Congress may not commence prior to January 3, 2017.

Members should endeavor to lease space through the last day of a congressional term rather than the last day of a calendar year. For the 115th Congress, leases should end on January 2, 2019, not December 31, 2018.

Important Notices About Leasing Vehicles

Payments in excess of $1,000 per month cannot be charged against a Member's Representational Allowance (“MRA”). This limit does not apply to mobile offices.

Vehicle leases for the 115th Congress may not commence prior to January 3, 2017.

For payments to be made from a Member's Representational Allowance (“MRA”), a leased vehicle must be selected from the list of vehicles designated by the Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”) as “low greenhouse gas emitting vehicles.” Please review the EPA website for compliance. Contact the Administrative Counsel for specific guidelines.
