Moolenaar Votes for Innovation in Health Care Research

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed legislation – commonly known as the 21st Century Cures Act – that will accelerate research for some of the most important cures and treatments the American people will need for years to come.

The 21st Century Cures Act removes federal red tape that has hampered innovation in medicine. It includes $4.8 billion for the National Institutes of Health, $1.8 billion for Vice President Joe Biden’s cancer research initiative and $1.6 billion for brain disease research including Alzheimer’s. 

The legislation enjoyed broad bipartisan support in today’s vote.

Congressman John Moolenaar (R-Midland) is a co-sponsor of the 21st Century Cures Act and voted for it today. He released the following statement:
