House App Contest

Congressional App Challenge

Each year, the House holds a Congressional Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Academic Competition, the “Congressional App Challenge.”  This competition is designed to engage student’s creativity and encourage their participation in STEM education fields.  Established by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives in 2013, this competition is a nationwide event that allows high school students from across the country to compete by creating and exhibiting their software application, or “app,” for mobile, tablet, or computer devices on a platform of their choice. The Congressional App Challenge is open to students in California's 15th Congressional District; there is no age minimum, but students are not allowed to participate after they've graduated from high school.

Our District's 3rd annual Hackathon will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 12 and Sunday, Nov. 13, at the offices of Workday, 6230 Stoneridge Mall Road in Pleasanton, cosponsored by Workday and Knodemy. Click here to register.
