White House Tours

The White House is the only tour that requires congressional assistance in order to obtain tickets. Tours may be requested as far as 3 months in advance, and no fewer than 21 days before the desired date. In filling out your request, you may include up to 3 dates for which you are available. Be sure they are not the dates you are traveling. The White House is open for tours from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays (excluding federal holidays or unless otherwise noted). The White House has full discretion in approving, canceling, and rearranging tours according to the President’s schedule and other events.

Once the initial request has been made with the office, you will receive an email from the White House requesting additional security information.

Tours of the Capitol, Washington Monument and other Washington, D.C. sites 

Tickets for tours of the U.S. Capitol may be obtained through the U.S. Capitol Visitors Center website in advance of your visit, in person at the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center , or you may contact the Washington, D.C. congressional office to schedule a personal tour for your group. To schedule a personal tour through the congressional office, please fill out and submit the following form. For tours of the Washington MonumentLibrary of Congress , National ArchivesSupreme Court , Pentagon , and Bureau of Engraving and Printing , please contact their respective websites.

Note: White House tours are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis. Our office assists with the requesting process, however, the White House Visitors’ Office is solely responsible for the scheduling and approving of tours.
