Casework FAQ

Casework FAQ

Do you have a pending case or issue with a Federal agency? If so, my office may be able to assist. While we may not be able to resolve your issue with a Federal agency, my Constituent Services team is pleased to intervene on your behalf by filing casework, answering your questions, or helping you cut through the red tape. Find out how my office can help below.

Who is my Congressman?

If you reside in Georgia’s 11th Congressional District, my office can assist you with issues regarding Federal agencies. If you are not sure of your Congressional District, please contact my office and a staff member will provide you with the contact information for your local Congressman.

What is required to file casework?

In order for my office to file casework on your behalf, you must complete a privacy release form. You can download a copy of the privacy release form HERE. If you are unable to download and print the form, contact my office and request the form to be mailed to your attention. To receive the best available assistance, please complete as much of the form as possible.

Does your case involve a federal agency?

Congressional offices are only able to assist with Federal Agencies. If you are having issues with the state or other local agencies, we can direct you to the appropriate representative. If you are not sure which agency to contact, feel free to reach out to my office and a Constituent Services Representative will assist you.

Can Congressional Offices get involved in legal disputes?

No, members of the U.S. House of Representatives cannot get involved in legal matters.

How does a Congressional inquiry work?

Once you've completed a privacy release form and returned it to my office, a Constituent Services Representative will be assigned to your case. This representative will make initial contact with both you and a Congressional liaison within the Federal agency and coordinate with the Congressional representative to seek answers on your behalf. The Federal agency is allowed 30 days to review and respond to my office, but many times a response can be received quickly. Once the response is received, a representative from my office will contact you.

If you have any additional questions about the Congressional inquiry process, please contact my Woodstock District office at (770) 429-1776 and ask to speak with a Constituent Services Representative. We look forward to serving you!
