As a veteran myself and father of a decorated Navy SEAL, I have a deep appreciation for the brave men and women who defend our nation. America’s service members and their families deserve the utmost respect and gratitude for their service and sacrifice to our country.

That means fulfilling our commitment to those who have served our nation in uniform. The recently disclosed widespread mishandling of our veterans in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) medical facilities was an unconscionable tragedy, and we must remain vigilant to make sure that never happens again. I am committed to making sure that the promises that were made to our veterans are kept.
