Congressional Internships

My Washington, DC office and district offices in Hazleton, Carlisle, Harrisburg, and Sunbury offer internships throughout the year for anyone over the age of 18.  Although all internships are unpaid, students gain invaluable work experience, while also helping residents of Pennsylvania's 11th Congressional District.  Internship hours are flexible to accommodate students' course schedules, but generally run 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  When Congress is in session, my Washington, D.C. office hours are extended to 6:00 p.m.  Interns can expect to have a variety of responsibilities, including day-to-day office work such as answering constituent phone calls, writing letters, and helping congressional staff with various offical duties, but responsibilities may vary depending on the location of your internship.  In the end, interns have the unique opportunity to learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of our nation's federal government.
