Issues

Defense

Since coming to Congress, I have been committed to protecting the men and women serving our country and the many military installations in Pennsylvania, such as the Carlisle Barracks, Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg, Army War College, and Tobyhanna Army Depot.

Economy & Spending

Our nation faces a serious debt problem. There is no question that the federal government is on an unsustainable spending spree. If we are serious about achieving long-term fiscal responsibility, we must address fiscal accountability. We must target government spending.

Education

In today’s increasingly global economy, American students need the skills necessary to succeed. This might be one of the greatest challenges in Congress; to support state and local governments in providing a quality, well-rounded education to all our nation’s students.

Energy

Pennsylvania has always led America's production of energy. As the second largest electricity producing state in the country, Pennsylvania's industries and workers should continue to fuel our country's energy needs.

Gun Rights

The Founding Fathers wrote the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution to enshrine the pre-existing right of individuals to keep and bear arms. It states: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”

Health Care

I am committed to preserving and protecting our nation’s healthcare system. I understand the challenges many Pennsylvanians – and all Americans – face when it comes to receiving healthcare benefits for themselves and their families.

Immigration

There should not and cannot be a plan to offer amnesty to the millions of illegal aliens present until we secure the borders. As a member of the House Homeland Security Committee, which has broad jurisdiction over border security, protecting the country from terrorist attacks, responding to disasters, and protecting national infrastructure, I will be a loud voice to fix our broken borders and immigration system.

Jobs

From my first day in office, I have been focused on getting Americans back to work. Local unemployment rates in Pennsylvania’s 11th Congressional District have remained higher than state and national averages for far too long.

Transportation

Roads, bridges, and other transportation infrastructure in Pennsylvania, and across the country, not only connect our communities, but also create the economic engines that transport the goods and services produced by our U.S. businesses, farms, and factories. U.S. products have long benefitted from transportation cost advantages that give our goods and services a competitive edge in the global marketplace.

Veterans

Our nation’s veterans have provided an invaluable service to our country. However, their unwavering dedication and bravery to defend our liberty often comes with great sacrifices. I will continue to work diligently to ensure that our veterans receive the benefits they deserve.
