Congressman Ryan's Washington, DC Staff Members

Ron Grimes

Chief of Staff

Ron is Congressman Ryan's primary advisor. He directs and manages the DC and district offices.

Erin Isenberg 

Deputy Chief of Staff

Erin is the office manager and scheduler and ensures that office policies and procedures are followed. As the scheduler she maintains the Member's official schedule, travel plans, and related records and acts as a liaison for the Member with the staff, public and other Members.

Ryan Keating

Deputy Chief of Staff

Ryan is the primary policy advisor for the Congressman. In addition to staffing the House Appropriations Defense Subcommittee, Ryan serves as a resource for legislative assistants, and acts as the primary staffer for issues related to defense/military, energy, the environment, and veterans affairs.

Michael Zetts

Communications Director

Michael manages and coordinates all communications activities for Congressman Ryan and the office – including speech writing and the development and dissemination of all communications matericals. He also serves as Congressman Ryan's official spokesperson and media liaison.

Anne Sokolov

Legislative Director

Anne is the primary legislative staffer and directs legislative staff. In addition to staffing the House Appropriations Transportation, Housing and Urban Development Subcommittee, Anne advises Congressman Ryan on issues related to education, health care, labor, social security, foreign policy, agriculture, trade, and nutrition. Anne also manages the Congressman's work as Co-Chair of the Addiction, Treatment, and Recovery Caucus.

Samantha Joy Fay

Legislative Assistant

Samantha is a member of the legislative staff. She advises the Congressman on issues related to the budget, campaign finance, civil rights and liberties, legislative branch, consumer affairs, criminal justice, economic policy, elections, finance, homeland security, immigration, infant mortality, intellectual property, intelligence, judiciary, postal issues, science and technology, small business, taxation, telecommunications, and animal rights.

Mark McDevitt

Press Assistant

Mark is a member of the communications team and assists in coordinating all communications activities for Congressman Ryan and the office – including speech writing, the development and dissemination of all communications materials, and the management of Congressman Ryan’s social media presence. Mark also serves as the office tour coordinator and personal assistant to Congressman Ryan. 

Stephen Kostyo

Legislative Fellow

Stephen advises Congressman Ryan on education issues, and staffs the Congressman for the Maker Caucus. Stephen’s portfolio also includes the school lunch program, adverse childhood experiences, nutrition education and social emotional learning. As a former teacher, Stephen specializes in issues dealing with low-income school systems and teacher retention.

Said Jahanmir

Legislative Fellow

Said advises Congressman Ryan on manufacturing policy, and staffs the Congressman for the House Manufacturing Caucus. Said’s portfolio also includes STEM education, workforce development, and related issues. Additionally, Said specializes in issues dealing with engineering, technology, automation, robotics, and steel and aluminum production.

Valerie Broznak

Defense Fellow

Valerie advises Congressman Ryan on defense and Veterans issues, and staffs the Congressman for the Military Mental Health Caucus.  Valerie advises the Congressman on defense policy and appropriations, military construction, mindfulness in defense, and Veterans issues.  Valerie is an active duty Naval Officer with over thirteen years of experience. 

District Office Staff

Rick Leonard

District Director - Warren office

Rick oversees all District office operations including monitoring personnel matters and ensuring that office policies and procedures are followed.  He occasionally represents the Congressman, or assigns appropriate staff to do so, in District.  He also travels throughout the District at regular intervals to keep abreast of local concerns and reports back to the Chief of Staff and Congressman.

Debbie Hayes

Office Manager & District Scheduler - Warren office

Debbie manages the Congressman’s schedule and calendar in Ohio and oversees the essential daily operations of the local Warren Office. She regularly briefs the Congressman on all scheduling activities in the District and makes recommendations on proposed future meetings.  She designs and prepares proclamations, certificates, and other official documents, as well as maintains office supplies and equipment.  

Mark Callion

Constituent Liaison - Warren office

Mark is part of the Congressman's team that acts as the constituent service center for casework correspondence and local issues.  He handles aging and seniors issues, utilities assistance and veterans outreach.  He regularly provides updates to the District Director and the Congressman.

Gene Crockett

Constituent Liaison - Warren office

Gene is part of the Congressman's team that acts as the constituent service center for casework correspondence and local issues.  He specializes in workplace labor issues, retirement plans, pensions, social security and disability benefits.   He regularly provides updates to the District Director and the Congressman.

Catey Breck

Economic Development Coordinator - Akron office

Catey is responsible for all economic development activity in the district and frequently interfaces with local economic development groups, chambers of commerce and universities to discuss special projects and/or grant procurement opportunities. Catey also engages community stakeholders to advance the Congressman’s objectives in Addiction, Treatment, and Recovery; Business and Workforce Development, and Computer Science Education. 

Pearlette Wigley

Community Development Coordinator - Youngstown office

Pearlette is part of the Congressman's constituent team and coordinates the federal grant process in the district.  She helps small faith-based, non-profits and community-based organizations learn about the grants process. At the same time she manages the essential daily operations of the local Youngstown office and assists with general casework.

Matt Vadas

Constituent Liaison - Youngstown office

Matt is part of the Congressman's team that acts as the constituent service center for casework correspondence and local issues.  His concentration is in Military and Veterans affairs, helps administer the Congressional Nomination Selection Process and assists with general casework.  He regularly provides updates to the District Director and the Congressman.
