Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger

Representing the 2nd District of Maryland

Service Academy Nominations

Each year, Congressman Ruppersberger is privileged to nominate candidates from the Second District for appointments to our nation's four Service Academies. The Congressman may submit up to ten names to the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the U.S. Naval Academy for consideration for the handful of vacancies available annually to the residents of Maryland. The U.S. Coast Guard does not require Congressional nominations for consideration.

If you are interested in serving your country and receiving a superb, tuition-free higher education, you may wish to consider a United States Service Academy. Young Americans who are interested in one of the service academies are encouraged to open a file in the Congressional District office by sending a letter of interest, an academy application and an affidavit of residence. You must apply with the Congressional District in which you reside. You can verify your Congressional District here before submitting your application. The deadline for 2017 is October 21, 2016. Congressman Ruppersberger's College Board Institution Code is 4265.
