Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger

Representing the 2nd District of Maryland

App Contest!

Are you a tech-savvy high school student who dreams of being the next Mark Zuckerberg? Do you have an idea for an awesome app?

Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger invites you to compete in the third annual "Congressional App Challenge," which will recognize the student who designs the best original new software application, or "app" for mobile, tablet or other computer devices on a platform of your choice. The contest is open to all high school students in Maryland's 2nd Congressional District. Students entering the competition must submit their app’s source code online before the Competition Submission Deadeline at 12 PM on NOVEMBER 2, 2016, as well as provide a YouTube or VIMEO video demo explaining their app and what they learned through this competition process. All entries must be original in concept, design and execution.

Apps will be judged based on the following criteria: quality of the idea, including creativity and originality; implementation of the idea, including user experience and design; and demonstrated excellence of coding and programming skills. The winner will be chosen by an independent panel of expert judges. The winner from the Second District will be featured on StudentAppChallenge.us and the winning app will also be on display in the U.S. Capitol with other winners from across the country.

To enter, visit congressionalappchallenge.us to complete a sign-up form and review complete contest rules.
