School Visits to Washington, D.C.

Visiting with students from the Fifth District while they are in our nation's capital is always one of the highlights of my week! If your school is going to be visiting Washington, D.C. and would like help scheduling tours or would like to meet with me, please call 202-225-2276 and ask for the Tour Coordinator. My office is happy to provide educators with information about attractions in Washington and to help you coordinate your visit.

In addition, we can provide informational booklets for use in the classroom. Unlimited copies of the following are available for educators at no cost:

* Pocket copies of the Constitution

* Brochures illustrating the history of the United States Congress and the Capitol Building

* "Our Flag," a booklet detailing the history of the United States flag along with proper handling protocol

* "How Our Laws Are Made," a booklet explaining the legislative process
