Transportation
The Mississippi River is the lifeblood of Southeast Missouri. Our river ways connect the goods our farmers and manufacturers create with national buyers. I am committed to promoting and protecting our transportation infrastructure. I strongly support working with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to maintain and improve necessary infrastructure.

WHO: U.S. Congressman Jason Smith (MO-08)

It’s the right step to appropriating funds rather than passing temporary patches through continuing resolutions which give a blank check to the administration.
WASHINGTON –Today, Congressman Jason Smith led a letter with his colleagues to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers urging the immediate opening of the Mississippi River to unnecessarily delayed barge traffic delivering agricultural harvests to market.
